Growing up, my favourite thing to do on a weekend was curl up on the sofa with a good book (and let’s be honest a lot of sugary snacks) and read for hours until my mum would come in and tell me to get outside! Not much has changed in the interim, except with two little kids finding a spare couple of hours to read a book is a luxury! Luckily, the Woman’s Day team loves a good book just as much as I do and so it’s with great pleasure that we’re officially launching our own “book club” – a place where you’ll find interviews with your favourite authors, book reviews and more. To celebrate, we’re offering 10 lucky readers the chance to win a $100 Dymocks voucher, so…

MATILDA’S SECRET DAD Michelle Williams has revealed Succession star Jeremy Strong stepped in to be a surrogate father to her now-16-year-old daughter Matilda after her dad Heath Ledger’s sudden death in 2008. “[Matilda] didn’t grow up with her father but she grew up with her Jeremy and we were changed by his ability to play as though his life depended upon it, because hers did,” says the former Dawson’s Creek star of her daughter, who was just two when the Aussie actor died of an accidental overdose aged 28. “Jeremy was serious enough to hold the weight of a child’s broken heart and sensitive enough to understand how to approach her through play and games and silliness,” Michelle told Variety. The 41-year-old mum, who moved her pal into her New…
‘George is missing her and the family life they enjoyed’ With his superstar status, there weren’t too many people in the world who could blow George Clooney away – until his now-wife Amal came along. An icon in her own right in the humanitarian world, George fell for the British-Lebanese human-rights lawyer at very first sight when they were introduced at his home in Italy’s Lake Como in 2013. “George was smitten almost immediately – as the friends who connected them suspected he might be,” says a source. “He said he’d never met such an impressive person, both for her career and her personal warmth.” WORK WORRIES Almost 10 years later, George, 61, is just as head over heels with the woman he married in 2014 – but the realities…
‘Meghan and Harry are again spoiling for a fight’ The Duchess of Cambridge is on a two-week countdown to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – and while the rest of Great Britain is already in celebration mode, Kate’s not quite so excited. Sources say the 40-year-old’s “heart sank” when her brother and sister-in-law, Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, revealed last week, in a somewhat snippy statement, that they will be attending the event with their children. Just 18 minutes before their announcement, the Queen, 96, had declared that only working members of the royal family would appear on the balcony for the RAF flypast, meaning the Sussexes, who quit the monarchy in 2020, are out. “The timing of all this shows Meghan and Harry are again spoiling for a…
The five-bedroom Frogmore Cottage on Windsor Castle grounds is about to burst at the seams, with reports that the Sussexes and their two children will stay there during the jubilee celebrations. The couple sub-lease the heritage property to Harry’s cousin, Princess Eugenie, 32, who lives there with her husband Jack Brooksbank, 36, and 15-month-old son August. “Eugenie and Jack moved in knowing they’d have to share with Harry and his family if they returned for a quick stay,” says a source. “It will be a little cramped with two families and their staff, but they’ll make room. Harry and Eugenie have remained great mates despite it all, and it will be nice for Lili and Archie to have August to play with.”…
