We’ve got some incredible stories in this week’s magazine, but there was one that really stood out to me as I was reading through them all late last week. On page 43, you’ll meet Sydney retiree Colin who, inspired by his daughter’s own mental health battle, walked 115km around the grounds of his retirement village during the pandemic to raise money and awareness for the Black Dog Institute. The 87-year-old and his fellow residents, who cheered him on along the way, should be so proud. Colin, you are an inspiration and a testament to the fact that age is no barrier. Well done from everyone at Woman’s Day.…

McLEOD’S DAUGHTERS’ BRIDIE & MYLES BACK TOGETHER! They sent Australia’s hearts aflutter during McLeod’s Daughters’ mammoth eight-year run, and now 14 years after the final episode aired, Bridie Carter and Myles Pollard have reunited. The pair, who played adored couple Tess McLeod and Nick Ryan, thrilled fans last week by announcing they were joining forces to launch a production company. Touching on their iconic on-screen love affair, Bridie, 49, says she chose to team up with Myles, 48, because of their “profound working relationship”. “That of course was one of the greatest and longest love stories,” the actress said last week. “I suppose Myles and I always had the same work ethic. “I could never have picked this but that’s like most things in my life,” Bridie added. Despite living…
In all her years as Denmark’s future queen, Princess Mary is rarely seen without showing her trademark megawatt smile. So when she broke down in tears during an emotional public speech last week, those close to the 48-year-old say it was the culmination of a “very trying year” for the Aussie royal. Speaking at an event in Copenhagen in honour of Children, Youth & Grief’s 20th anniversary, witnesses tell Woman’s Day she was “visibly overcome” when recalling her own mum Etta Donaldson, who died of a heart condition when Mary was only 26. “It’s difficult, if not impossible, to find meaning in losing someone you love,” she said. “But what makes sense, and something that cannot be taken from us, is [what] we all had with that person.” And sources…
When the Duchess of Sussex bravely revealed in a deeply personal story for The New York Times that she and Prince Harry had suffered a miscarriage in July, it seemed hard to imagine a positive coming from such an immeasurable tragedy. But if there could be a silver lining, it seems the scale of their grief may have prompted Harry, 36, to reach out to his 38-year-old brother Prince William for comfort. ‘He has leaned on William through every tragedy’ “Make no mistake, this is a total tragedy, but it could also be the tipping point for emotional and stubborn Harry to finally mend fences with his brother. He has leaned on William through every tragedy that has befallen them, and despite all the bad blood between them, he needs…
While TV viewers try to work out what’s true and what’s not on the most controversial season of The Crown yet, there’s one fact everyone can agree on – intruder Michael Fagan’s dramatic palace break-in was a frightening lesson to the royal protection officers. Reliving the terrifying incident in which Michael managed to get into the Queen’s bedroom twice on two separate occasions has “had an effect” on Kate, say sources. “She’s worried about someone getting ideas about this,” says an insider. “She feels Kensington Palace is much more exposed out there in the great parks than Buckingham Palace and doesn’t want history repeating itself. “KP is one of the most heavily guarded buildings in the world, but even so, she’s asking to up the amount of royal protection…
