Coral Algie’s German shepherd Bada wags her tail as she tends to her 12 puppies. As you watch her making her way along the line-up of her brown furry bundles, you can’t help but notice there’s something a little different about one of her brood.
Bada’s 12th “pup”, Buddy, is, in fact, a calf.
“Buddy was only a few days old when we rescued him,” Coral tells Woman’s Day, explaining she and her husband Wayne found him on the brink of death, stuck in a dam near their farmhouse in New Italy, NSW, with his mum. Sadly, his mother didn’t survive, but Coral and Wayne welcomed Buddy into their home.
