I spent part of my Christmas break on the NSW South Coast in Mollymook, visiting Mogo Zoo and marvelling at the incredible beauty and sense of community in the area. Like so many others, I’ve felt simultaneously heartbroken and helpless watching the terrifying scenes of the bushfires unfold. But one thing has lifted our spirits at Woman’s Day – the heartwarming scenes of people banding together to help those worst affected. From everyday heroes cooking meals for those displaced, to the brave firefighters and emergency services crews who’ve worked around the clock, to the millions of people who’ve donated money, clothing, food and even hugs. The strength of Aussie mateship has never been more important and that’s something worth celebrating.…
With bushfires so catastrophic navy ships and army aircraft were deployed to rescue thousands of terrified people on Australia’s south-east coast, there were countless inspirational acts of heroism and mateship amid the flames. And while towns were left shattered in NSW and Victoria as the inferno – which has been burning through millions of hectares over the past three months – took an even crueller twist last week, Aussies didn’t hesitate to lend a hand. Millions of dollars were donated from people on New Year’s Eve as the flames were devouring little towns and forcing an army of brave volunteers to retreat to save their own lives after the shocking loss of three firefighters before Christmas. Samuel McPaul, 28, died when his fire truck overturned 70km east of Albury, leaving…
Aussie legend Paul Hogan has reunited with his castmates from The Paul Hogan Show, John “Strop” Cornell and Delvene Delaney, to film an ad for a new beer for the bushfire appeal. Filmed inside the Hotel Brunswick – which is co-owned by John and his wife Delvene – the ad sees Paul, John, 78, and Delvene, 68, invite punters to come and have a glass of Classic Brew. To kick things off, Hoges, 80, made the first donation of $200,000. “It’s time to step up,” says Paul. “We have more volunteer firefighters in this country than anywhere else.” Meanwhile, Oscar winner Russell Crowe, 55, has raised more than $400,000 for the NSW Rural Fire Services through his own personal donations, as well as encouraging his friends and by auctioning one…

Jennifer Garner appears to be getting on swimmingly with her hunky co-star Edgar Ramirez, if her uncharacteristically flirty display outside his trailer on the set of their new film Yes Day is anything to go by. The actress, 47, eagerly grabbed Edgar by his chiselled chest and beamed as they caught up while working on the Netflix movie, and sources tell Woman’s Day the entire cast and crew have their fingers crossed for a blossoming romance between the two. “Jennifer deserves happiness,” an insider says. “Especially with someone as handsome as Edgar, who is a great guy.” Ironically, Edgar, 42, was last linked with Cuban actress Ana de Armas, 31, who was recently seen flirting with Jen’s ex-husband Ben Affleck, 47, as they worked on their film Deep Water in…
Bradley Cooper look away – Lady Gaga made sure her 2020 started with a bang by kissing a hunky mystery man in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve. As the clock struck midnight the singer – who earlier in the night performed Fly Me To The Moon at Brian Newman’s After Dark show – was spotted locking lips with the dark-haired, bearded bloke called Michael. And while not much is known about him yet, it seems Gaga, 33, is very well acquainted with the man, with the pair leaving together.…
