Schoolgirl mystery Strangled and dumped
When Loraine Bright dropped her teenage daughter Michelle at a party, she said, as she always did, “I love you, be careful, behave!” Sadly, they were to be her last words to 17-year-old Michelle.
Three days later, on March 2, 1999, Michelle’s body was discovered by the road, just outside her NSW hometown of Gulgong. An inquest found she’d been strangled or suffocated, and that her bra had been “both cut and torn”.
Michelle’s mum believes she knew her killer: “She would never have walked home on her own in the dark.” Police are offering $500,000 for information leading to a conviction.
“For a mother that’s got a broken heart, please… come forward,” Loraine pleads.
