When Aussie actor Gyton Grantley proposed to his girlfriend of five years Alexandra Ortuso, not even he could have predicted what was about to happen next.
“She freaked out,” says Gyton, 35, who popped the question in picturesque Burano, Italy.
“And there were tears – I don’t think they were tears of joy. They were tears of shock!”
“I had a heart attack,” adds Alex. “When he dropped to one knee, I said, ‘Get off the floor, it’s dirty!’ Then when I realised what he was doing, I walked off.
“He was like ‘You can say no, but just come and answer me!’ I said, ‘Of course I want to marry you!’ I was just in so much shock I didn’t know what to do.”
