Woman’s Day is Australia’s number one-selling weekly women’s magazine, offering all the latest celebrity gossip and exclusive interviews as well as fascinating real-life reads, mouth-watering recipes, beauty, fashion, food, health and family advice.
My team here at Woman’s Day are used to me making wild claims about things I’ve never done. Never tried coffee. Never seen Dirty Dancing (or The Notebook). Never been to New Zealand. Never been to the cricket (I know, un-Australian. My bad!). But this week, I found myself on the other side of the Never fence when debating our favourite recipe from our test kitchen. Jennene’s delicious Baked Spaghetti Pie sent the whole office into a frenzy, the concept of making a pie out of spag bol blowing their minds. While I love a new take on an old fave, I’ve been eating this every Monday night for years, courtesy of my mum, who delivers it wrapped in foil to my door. Thanks, Mum! She’ll be thrilled to know…
NINA DOBREV At least Nina got half right. Although she was gleaming in a silverlicious shiny crop top, the starlet’s skirt could have easily been mistaken for the Cookie Monster’s albino cousin! Overwhelmingly big, blousy and bland, this little chickadee needs to give the emus back their fuzz. EMILY RATAJKOWSKI Here chook, chook, chook! Well, it looks like somebody’s been raiding the hen house – and it wasn’t for eggs! Blurring the lines between ferocious and foul, this model-turned-actress resembles an ostrich with a scratchy rash. Best beware: molting might soon occur! NAOMI WATTS Oh, the drama! It would be utterly impossible for Naomi to look any more radiant than in this super-swish splendiferous feather-fest by Elie Saab. Swanning like a sophisticated Sleeping Beauty, one can imagine her floating on…
Summer is always a very special time for Princess Mary, as she relishes the rare opportunity to share a break away with her family. But this year as she enjoys a relaxing holiday at the Danish royal family’s favourite summer getaway, Grasten Palace, Mary is happier than ever – and she has a very special reason. In a poignant move, Queen Margrethe has gifted the stunning property to Mary and her husband Crown Prince Frederik, and asked them to call it their own. The exquisite palace in the south of Denmark has always provided the perfect place for Mary and Frederik to enjoy the countryside with their adorable children, Christian, 9, Isabella, 8, and four-year-old twins Vincent and Josephine. The sporty family embrace its stunning grounds – which boast a…
The historic Grasten Palace is located about 300km southwest of Copenhagen in the South Jutland area, on the outskirts of the small town of Grasten, which has around 4000 residents. The palace itself was a gift from the Danish state to Fred’s grandparents Queen Ingrid and King Frederik IX in 1935. The impressive north wing, which houses the palace chapel, is the only remaining part of the original residence, which dates from 1700. The rest was rebuilt after a fire in 1757, with the centre wing added in 1842. The chapel is the only part of the palace that is open to the public, and serves as a parish church. Its impressive interior boasts 80 paintings and a huge altarpiece that reaches all the way to the ceiling. Not surprisingly,…
As she proudly takes prime position in The Voice’s top 16, Naomi Price can’t wipe the smile off her face – but suspicious viewers can’t help but wonder if there’s a secret behind Naomi’s smile. While there’s no doubt the singer’s gutsy performances make her one of Team Ricky’s strongest contenders, rumours are swirling about a pact to guarantee Naomi’s success between her, her coach Ricky Martin, and her boyfriend Luke Kennedy – a former contestant who skyrocketed to the grand finals of The Voice 2013 with Ricky as his coach. Indeed, when the Battle song between Naomi and Lize Heerman aired last week and Ricky confirmed, “I’m taking Naomi with me” fans were quick to voice their disapproval. Suspicious behaviour? “This is going to be rigged. Luke Kennedy’s girlfriend…
Perfect song delivery won’t be the only thing on Amber Nichols’s mind if she gets into the live finals of The Voice. The mum-of-one, who is due to give birth to a baby girl in September, is hoping that her bundle of joy doesn’t make an appearance in the middle of her live performance! “The closer I get to the birth, I think it will play on my mind a little,” reveals 32-year-old Amber, who’s now the Team Jessie favourite after starting out on Team Madden. “I’ve had to arrange to get a doctor here and to check into a hospital just in case. I know what I’m in for.” Amber found out she was pregnant two weeks before her Blind Audition, much to her and hubby Pete’s delight. “I…
