It was Garrick Wildman’s parents who convinced him to apply for Australian Survivor: Titans V Rebels.
Sadly, neither of them are around to see him on it.
For years, the Gold Coast security guard used to watch Survivor with his mum, who was a “real big fan” of the reality show.
“About five years ago, my mum passed away,” tells Garrick. “Just before that, she said, ‘You should go on it.’” So he applied but didn’t get chosen.
Last year, Garrick found his dad watching Survivor. “He said, ‘Your mum was right – you should go on it.’ So I applied again. He passed away on the first of March and, just after that, I got the approval, so someone was helping me from above.”
