Courgette Noodle & Kale Salad SERVES 4 PREPARATION 30 MINUTES 2 garlic cloves, crushed ¼ cup kecap manis 2 teaspoons sesame oil 1 tablespoon finely grated ginger 10cm stalk lemongrass, white part only, finely chopped 1/3 cup lime juice ¾ cup dry-roasted cashews, coarsely chopped 750g courgette 1 bunch green kale, trimmed, leaves torn into small pieces 1 tablespoon peanut oil 3 spring onions, thinly sliced lengthways ½ cup loosely packed mint leaves 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds, toasted 1. Call for help I applaud Woman’s Day for tackling the difficult issues of mental illness and suicide. An even bigger topic is what happens when troubled individuals do reach out for help. Back in the ’30s, we had huge psychiatric hospitals like Kingseat, Porirua and Cherry Farm, at a time when our population was a fraction of what it is now. Somebody decided community care was the way to go, the big hospitals were closed and now there is not nearly enough mental health care for those who put their hands up and say they need it.
