In the past, I’ve held large family Christmas Day lunches at my house and just about died, cried or fainted each time. I’ve had dinner with other families and that’s nice, but since Dad died, it’s never been the same really. Dad made Christmas – from getting everyone sozzled on sherry to playing Santa, snoring in front of the Queen’s message, taking ill-fated self-timer photos and showing slides of the old days in the evening.
