DESCRIPTION
The martial eagle is a large, magnificent eagle and a powerful hunter. The largest eagle in Africa, it weighs 3-6.5kg, with a wingspan of 188-260cm, and has a body length of 78-86cm. Its total length, in comparison to its wingspan, is restricted by its very short tail. Among standard measurements, the wing chord is 56-67.5cm, the tail is 27.2-32cm and the tarsus 9.7-13cm. It is also, on average, the fifth heaviest eagle in the world.
