In the surreal, haunting hours that immediately followed Australia’s worst mass shooting, it was the job of police negotiator Terry McCarthy to attempt to contact the killer. Prince Harry, who previously said that “changing the media landscape in the UK” is his “life’s work”, was under fire on June 27 during a preliminary case hearing brought against News Group Newspapers (NGN) accusing the publishers of alleged phone hacking and other illegal activity from the mid-1990s through to the mid-2010s.
