Q Mary Ann Bell Cosgrave, my great grandmother, was born in Wexford, Ireland, c1853. She married John Picthall in 1873 at St Alexander's, Bootle, Liverpool, naming her father as Thomas Cosgrave, shoemaker. Her sister, Catherine, married in 1879 at St Mary's Church, Bootle, and provided the same details for her father.
Both appear in Liverpool in the 1871 census. Mary is 23 and Catherine 28 (however, I don't think this can be right). After the girls married, they can both be found in census returns in the Liverpool area.
I'm trying to find the sisters’ birth records. There is a Confirmation record for a Mary Cosgrave in Piercetown, Wexford, in 1859, but nothing for Catherine, who I think was born c1850.
