The county archive looks after parish material, electoral rolls, hospital, workhouse and asylum records, wills back to 1462, as well as the Northamptonshire Regiment and Northamptonshire Yeomanry collections. You'll also find First World War tribunals, searchable at Findmypast (findmypast.co.uk), plus personal letters and accounts, estate collections, school records, and material relating to the county's shoe and boot industry.

The archive at Northampton General Hospital started life as a medical library at the first infirmary in George Row in 1790. It's run by volunteers and comprises books, documents, artwork and instruments.
