Nearly four million Irish records are now available on the free website FamilySearch (familysearch.org).
The new record sets are ‘Ireland, Dublin Workhouse Admission and Discharge Registers, 1840-1919’ (1,533,207 records); ‘Ireland, Dublin Poor Law Unions Board of Guardians Minute Books, 1839-1924’ (892,325 records); ‘Ireland, Court of Chancery Bill Books, 1627-1884’ (1,217,591 records); and ‘Ireland, National School Registers, 1847-1954’ (297,029).
The records are already available on commercial family history websites Ancestry (ancestry.co.uk) and Findmypast (findmypast.co.uk).
The workhouse registers, minute books and school registers collections on Family Search are accompanied by images of the original records. Images are also available for the bill books, but can only be accessed from a FamilySearch Family History Center or an affiliate library.
