Kelly’s Directory of Kent
The star item this month is a late Victorian directory of Kent. Normally £14.95 from My History, this edition was printed in 1895 and contains lists of residents, local traders, plus information, statistics, histories and topographical descriptions of all “hundreds, liberties, unions, boroughs, towns, ports, parishes, townships, villages and hamlets”, taking in local trade and commerce, manufacturers, agriculture, markets and fairs, charities and more. The text is fully searchable and the directory has bookmarks so you can jump between sections.
