A duo of whiskies — a 29-year-old single cask, and a non-age statement release — Vanguard draws inspiration from the way in which our senses work together to create an immersive experience.
The idea stems from Glass’ “synaesthesic” tasting notes for whiskies — a visual record that go beyond flavour into colour, shape, sound. His intricate notes include diagrams, colours, and drawings alongside flavours: sunset streaks of orange, fuchsia, and purple are striking next to the notes “mangoes, ripe strawberries”.
