Christies, London sold the Dalmore 62 Years Old The Kildermorie for a hammer price of £97,000 in early December (with buyer’s premiums, that comes to £114,000). This far exceeded the guide price of £40,000-£60,000. This is one of 12 bottles created by Richard Paterson, each named after a key part of The Dalmore and its history – Kildermorie is the loch that supplies water to the distillery. Fifteen years ago, The Kildermorie became the most expensive bottle of whisky ever auctioned. On 4th December 2002, McTear’s Auctioneers, Glasgow sold it for £22,000. Spanning its two appearances at auction, it has grown in value by £5,000 a year.
