Covid and comorbidities
In your Apr/May 2022 issue, you mention that almost all the Italians who died of Covid-19 had comorbidities, like arterial hypertension, irregular heartbeat or heart failure. I suggest that these people were often ill in the first place because of nutritional deficiencies, and, in most cases, their treatment made them more deficient.
For example, vitamin D is highly effective against respiratory viruses, and vitamin D deficiency can be caused by anticonvulsants, bile acid sequestrants, cholestyramine, cimetidine, colestipol, corticosteroids, glutethimide, heparin, isoniazid, mineral oil, neomycin, phenobarbital, phenolphthalein and phenytoin and primidone (see Moss M. Drugs as anti-nutrients. J Nutr Env Med, 2007; 16(2): 149–66).
