Man and horse have an everchanging relationship. Over time, people have bred horses to be faster and stronger, and over the course of human history, horses have changed the way people interact with the world as well. At the Phippen Museum’s annual invitational exhibition Hold Your Horses, this magnificent creature is honored for its contributions to human civilization.
Thirty-two artists have been recognized for their outstanding equine art, including Kathy Q Anderson, Mary Ann Cherry, Sheila Cottrell, Sheri Greves- Neilson, Barbara Meikle, Krystii Melaine, Linda St. Clair, Michael Ome Untiedt and more. More than 100 pieces in a range of mediums including bronze, graphite, oil, pastel and watercolors will be for sale.
