The well signposted circular hiking trail comprises a total length of 50 kilometres, almost a fifth of which is covered by cable car. In total, it takes around 18 hours to hike the route, which encompasses 6,038 metres in elevation difference by foot. Ideally, you start from St. Anton, Lech or Stuben in a clockwise direction, so that the routes and cable car rides coordinate perfectly. Mt Favourite Walk Bushy Park is a forest just north of Whanganui located on the West Coast of the North Is land. It is not just any forest it is a homestead and wildlife sanctuary set in a 100 hectare native forest kept predator free for native birds and is considered one of Australasia's top 25 restorvation projects. It was once part of a continuous mantle of forest stretching from the coastal dunes to the central volcanoes, it is now a precious remnant of that temperate lowland forest. It was bequeathed to Forest and Bird by G.F. Moore in 1962 and is cared for by Tarapuruhi Trust in partnership with Forest and Bird and dedicated volunteers.
