Darren Fisher hails from Staffordshire and had wanted an older Bus project for some time, after getting into the VW scene by way of a T5, which he still owns. As is often the case, having looked at a number of Buses that didn’t fit the bill, he enlisted the services of someone to help. The help Darren called upon was Leon Taylor (07830 35813), who lives local to Darren and ships in a lot of Buses from California. After being freshly serviced and under sealed the Van was ready to be picked up from the garage. We’d been without wheels for a few days and mutually decided on an impromptu adventure. The last trip we embarked upon in our bright yellow ex-AA T4 Van lasted a total of two months in duration taking us as far as Roma. ALL FIRED UP Hi Camper&Bus, I've just bought a fabulously original '66 Devon in superb untouch condition. I'm slowly going through everything, cleaning and recommissioning everything as I go. I've been through the engine, braking system and electrics and now I'm cleaning up the interior as best I can. The cabinets are fine, but I have a problem with the original two-ring gas burner. It all looks fine, but whenever I light it flames shoot up from behind and I have to put it out quick before catastrophe strikes. I really don't want to replace it with a new hob, as it wouldn't be original or in keeping with the rest of the Bus. Can you offer any suggestions that might help?
