1970 Bay Window, Bee
Bee imported her Bay Window several years ago from Alabama, USA, after spotting it for sale on thesamba. Its first owner was an entomologist, who used it to live in it, whilst travelling around the deserts of American and Mexico, during his studying of insects. “There were quite a few dead examples, scattered around the interior when I purchased it,” she laughs! “That’s what I like most about these Campervans - their history. The desert weather has certainly done its best to sandblast the exterior paintwork. I’ve done my best to seal it in with an agricultural product, which is an oil based paint conditioner, whereas lacquer is porous and the bodywork would still continue to rot in the UK climate.
