WHEN SHE’S NOT DESIGNING luminescent interiors for luxury hotels, interior designer Kelly Wearstler has a penchant for discovering new cultures, new food and unique indigenous art. Combined with a passion for surfing, diving and tropical destinations, it’s hardly surprising that the Beverly Hillsbased creative was drawn to Indonesia for her most recent family holiday with her husband, real estate developer Brad Korzen, and two sons, Oliver, 14, and Elliott, 13. “We discovered Sumba Island last summer and found it an incredible, mostly undiscovered place to stay and surf,” says Wearstler, who cruised Komodo Island in the luxury yacht Lamima, diving two to three times a day, before spending a week on Sumba, luxuriating in the raw beauty of the Nihiwatu resort.
