If you’re a fan of Batman (the comics have been published since 1940, and the most recent TV series Gotham ran from 2014 to 2019), trusty butler Alfred Thaddeus Crane Pennyworth ( Sean Pertwee in Gotham) is no stranger. With his British wit, fighting skills, impeccable suits and ability to put up with the often-complex Master Bruce Wayne aka Batman ( David Mazouz in Gotham), Alfred is a character who has been mostly in the shadows.
