One of the many classic films jointly written, directed and produced by prolific collaborating duo Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger (A Canterbury Tale), this 1947 British psychological drama follows a group of missionary nuns struggling to establish a convent in the Himalayan mountains as isolation, extreme weather, the altitude and culture clashes bring them to the brink of madness.
