On Big Bang, Sheldon (Jim Parsons) always dresses like a 13-year-old with his T-shirts, while on Young Sheldon, the character (played by Iain Armitage) dresses like an adult. @TVGMMattRoush Ted Lasso The Emmys love this feel-good comedy—because who wouldn’t? Fridays, Apple TV+ DON’T TELL TED Lasso, but he’s a front-runner—at the Emmys, anyway, where the delightful feel-good sports spoof achieved a personal best by earning 20 nominations, the most ever for a freshman comedy. In Season 2, however, Coach Ted and his AFC Richmond soccer team remain underdogs of the lowest order. Not that Ted (the effortlessly charming Jason Sudeikis) minds much. “There’s two buttons I never like to hit, and that’s panic and snooze,” the folksy Kansas transplant quips at a press conference after a particularly mortifying mishap on the field. Breaking News in Yuba County 8/7c, Epix Allison Janney (below) astonishes (per usual) as a lovedeprived wife who finds a bizarre silver lining when her husband expires after she catches him—on her birthday—in the act with his mistress. Like a lesser Coen Brothers effort, part dark farce and part kooky crime drama, the 2021 film pokes fun at our dangerous fascination with a good human-interest story.
