According to reports, his last episode has already aired, denying him a farewell. While I don’t blame the actor for pursuing other opportunities after all these years, this would leave a lot of Alex’s relationships—including with wife Jo (Camilla Luddington)—unresolved. Grey’s has survived significant departures before, but I’m beginning to think they should call time on the show before it turns into a shadow of its former self. —Jake MATT ROUSH: I didn’t think Grey’s could survive losing McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey), but at least he got a send-off, however tragic. EVEN THOUGH KEN Jennings was crowned the ultimate champ of Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time by host Alex Trebek last month, ABC can uncategorically claim its own win in the numbers game. The primetime showdown, which saw Jennings best fellow memory masters James Holzhauer and Brad Rutter over the course of four nights, drew the network a Daily Double’s worth of ratings rarely seen on unscripted broadcast television. The opening match premiered with 14.4 million viewers, with the next three nights bringing in 14.9, 15.6 and finally 13.6 million. They were ABC’s best stats of 2020 for primetime. NCIS: New Orleans Sunday, Feb. 16, 10/9c, CBS BANG! IN DECEMBER’S midseason finale of NCIS: New Orleans, head honcho Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) shot and killed a murderous cult leader—maybe in cold blood. A proverbial nasty piece of work, the man was kneeling, hands up, gun tucked into his waistband.
