Sweet and Sour Pork Sliders Makes 8 servings INGREDIENTS 4 red bell peppers, cut into ½-inch strips 3 pounds boneless pork shoulder Salt and pepper 1 bottle (10 oz.) San-J Sweet & Tangy sauce 1 can (8 oz.) crushed pineapple ½ cup Heinz Chili Sauce Slider buns, for serving DIRECTIONS 1. Scatter bell peppers over bottom of a 5-quart slow cooker. 2. Season pork with salt and pepper. Place pork, fat side up, on top of bell peppers in slow cooker. 3. In a medium bowl, stir together San-J sauce, pineapple and chili sauce. Pour over pork roast. Hamilton’s America, directed by Alex Horwitz and produced by RadicalMedia, kicks off PBS’s Fall Arts Festival on October 21 and goes behind the scenes of the Broadway smash Hamilton. But Hulu’s screen adaptation of California crime novelist Kem Nunn’s 2014 psychosexual thriller Chance—about a middle-aged psychiatrist having an affair with a younger, borderline patient running from a murderous, crooked-cop hubby—could have gone in two very different directions. There’s the pseudo-sexy Silk Stalkings route, titillating to teenagers and late-night junkies. True-crime shows have always been popular, from stories on newsmagazine programs like 48 Hours to Investigation Discovery’s full schedule of crimescene reenactments. But a recent spate of well-researched documentaries and high-end docudrama miniseries— on subjects like O.J. Simpson and JonBenét Ramsey— have brought the genre into the mainstream.
