Gene Roddenberry’s progressive and humanistic vision of space exploration in Trek has spawned multiple spinoffs and hit movies. Few series of any type have had this kind of impact and staying power. No slight to the Space Family Robinson (with whom I was obsessed as a kid), but Lost in Space is more of a guilty pleasure, and while I’m curious about what Netflix’s upcoming remake will be like (the less said the better about the 1998 movie version), there’s really no comparison.…

Cheers to Netflix for not fearing the fall. With so many new shows hitting the air at the same time, it can be tough to stand out. Although from what we’ve seen of Mike Colter (near left) in Luke Cage, it’s clear that the streaming service’s badass Jessica Jones spinoff is up to the challenge.
