WHO’S VISITING A pineapple under the sea? Betty White! The actress lends her voice to the March 12 episode of Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants as Beatrice, the owner of the store Grandma’s Apron. When the character Pearl searches for a job at the mall, Beatrice’s shop is the only one with an opening. “Like SpongeBob, Betty White is a comedy icon,” say supervising producers Vincent Waller and Marc Ceccarelli. “Also like SpongeBob, she looks fantastic in shorts and tube socks.” And yes, the producers fell under White’s spell. “Just under the surface of this polite, dignified lady, she revealed to us a whip-smart, bawdy gal who could make a room full of Navy men—or, in this case, a room full of cartoonist and actors—blush to a deep shade of crimson.”…

Did you think she was just going to stand in the corner? Hayley Orrantia, who plays teenage daughter Erica on ABC’s Reagan-era family comedy The Goldbergs, strikes a pose in the center of the show’s high school gymnasium set. The entire space has been decorated to the colorful, kitschy nines for the prom, and Orrantia herself is rocking a pink dress, tights and dancing shoes. The Dukes of Hazzard While Catherine Bach’s sizzling Daisy Duke would become synonymous with her thigh-revealing denim shorts, the original plan was a poodle skirt that matched the tablecloths at the Boar’s Nest, where Daisy waited tables. Horrified, Bach brought in an alternative: a pair of jean shorts she’d cut down from her own bell-bottoms. For FX’s 1980s-set The Americans (Season 4 premieres March 16), Katie Irish not only dresses stars Keri Russell (Elizabeth) and Matthew Rhys (Philip) in their characters’ day-to-day wardrobes, but she also creates the spy couple’s many disguises.
