This season of Vikings sets Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) on the same path as a very angry bear. To prove he’s equal to his dad (Travis Fimmel’s Ragnar Lothbrok), Bjorn goes on a journey into the winter wild. “Bjorn becomes ready to take over as king,” Ludwig says. “You’ll see a big change in power.” Bjorn’s walkabout was shot in Canada during harsh blizzard conditions and is part of an ambitious season (the episode order was doubled from 10 to 20 this time around) that includes epic recreations of battles that required 1,000 extras. “It’s the hardest I’ve ever worked on anything,” Ludwig adds. On Friday, March 4, the preschool hit kicks off a monthlong arc about adoption, tackling topics from the practical, like how to change messy diapers, to the emotional insecurities siblings may face when a new child joins the family. When Louis C.K. rang up Louie Anderson to play Zach Galifianakis’s mother in the Hangover star’s new sad-clown tragicomedy, Baskets—a role originally intended for two-time Oscar nominee Brenda Blethyn—Anderson accepted without hesitation. The 62-year-old gravel-voiced comedian, known best for ’80s stand-up and the partially biographical animated series Life With Louie, had been doing bits about his mom in his act for years. Drag, however, was not on his résumé.
