When the ProRodeo Hall of Fame inducts its Class of 2016 in Colorado Springs on August 6, Jerold Camarillo will become just the 14th team roper in rodeo history to be immortalized in the hallowed Hall. And he’ll take his rightful place in the record books alongside his big brother Leo, who was one of the Hall’s inaugural inductees in 1979.
“I was speechless when they called me,” said Jerold, who’ll also join Dale Smith, Jim Rodriguez Jr., Ben Johnson, John Miller, Jake Barnes, Clay O’Brien Cooper, Les Hirdes, Asbury Schell, Tee Woolman, Charles Maggini, Joe Glenn and Bobby Hurley in the most distinguished honor of all. “I didn’t know what to say.
