Last week, just before the release of “Mulan,” Disney’s live-action remake of its 1998 animated feature about a girl warrior who saves imperial China from invading avengers, Jason Scott Lee, who plays the chief avenger, was relaxing at home, in Hawaii. His “Mulan” character, Böri Khan, has flowing locks, a scarred face, eyeliner, and a furious expression; he’s often seen thundering across a dusty plain, screaming. Lee himself has a more affable vibe.
