Bill Hader’s ‘Most Brentwood-y Thing I’ve Ever Done’
Henry Winkler and Bill Hader share a history that goes back way before they began co-starring on HBO’s Barry. As Hader recounted at the June 30 Southern California Journalism Awards, where he was presenting Winkler, 73, with a public service honor, the onetime Fonzie helped get Hader’s eldest daughter, Hannah, into Santa Monica’s Crossroads school. “The most Brentwood-y thing I’ve ever done,” said Hader, 41, as he described how, a few years back, his then-wife, Maggie, approached Winkler, a neighbor they’d never met, and asked him for a letter of recommendation.
