WILL TWO DREAMWORKS CONTINUE TO EXIST? Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg soon must decide whether to extend a deal allowing Spielberg’s DreamWorks Studios to use the name. Under a littleknown pact set to expire Jan. 1, Spielberg licenses the name and logo from Katzenberg’s DreamWorks Animation, which scored the trademark in 2004 when it was spun off from the studio founded by the duo and David Geffen. My childhood in Austria made me a fanatic about conservation. We didn’t have running water, so I had to schlep the water 200 yards from a well. But Fox has bucked the sad trend by launching two sitcoms back to back, single-camera comedies headlined by aging small-screen studs who are still getting it done in the looks and fitness department. Superficial similarities aside, the series are vastly different — and only one, so far, is worth watching. Starring Rob Lowe, The Grinder (an unfortunate title) feels like a Fox show.
