Herbs are often called ‘nature’s healers’, and their ability to promote wellness touches almost every aspect of life. Herbs heal, they soothe and calm, not only ourselves but also our domestic animals. They add goodness to the soil, enhance the growth of nearby plants, act as pest repellents, and attract beneficial pollinating insects, especially bees.
A food garden that does not incorporate herbs is poorer for it, which is why in this new series we will be looking at how we, and the environment around us, can benefit from growing herbs.
