Many artists’ style evolves over time, but when comparing the early works of the European artist Max Todd with his later pieces in his signature bird’s-eye style, they could be painted by different painters entirely. During his early career, he preferred to paint rural landscapes and scenery of the romantic genre, but one day, he decided to depart from his traditional style.
Rather than painting things from a conventional perspective, Todd experimented with an aerial, ‘bird’s-eye’ view instead, and the rest, as they say, is history. This light-hearted kind of social commentary, capturing an otherwise unobserved moment in time, also managed to capture the art world’s imagination, with Todd’s works now on display around the world, from the UK to the US.
