Despite originally being considered an afterthought by its owners, the carriage house-style apartment above Charmion Hain and her husband’s two-car garage has served many needs. In its first year, the space was a full-time abode for their family members. Over time, this lovely little getaway has blossomed into a beautifully designed guesthouse for friends, children, and grandchildren.
“When we decided to downsize a few years ago, we purchased this little 1926 cottage next door to our daughter,” says Charmion (or Charm, as she is endearingly referred to by family and friends). “While we were restoring this new smaller home, the guesthouse just evolved,” she says.
