Matthew Quick began painting as a teenager, before becoming one of the University of South Australia's youngest students. Upon graduation, he joined Emery Studio in Melbourne, designing for major Australian corporations such as Rio Tinto, Foster’s and BHP. But for a long time he was distracted by other careers – working variously as a university lecturer, photographer, salesman, art director, copywriter and interior designer until he returned full-time to painting when he was 35. Dogs are an incredible friend to man because they have been there through the years, through any task and any challenge, but the relationship between dog and man goes a bit deeper (and older). The friendship between dog and man dates back to 15,000 years when dogs followed man throughout his migrations in East Asia.
