3 cups whole buttermilk¼ cup hot sauce1 (3½- to 4-pound) whole chicken, giblets discardedand cut into 8 pieces2 large eggs4 cups all-purpose flour, divided2 tablespoons kosher salt, divided, plus more for sprinkling1 teaspoon ground black pepper, divided½ teaspoon paprika½ teaspoon onion powder½ teaspoon garlic powderVegetable oil, for frying
