STEAK FAJITAS

2 pounds skirt steak, thinly sliced against the grain
1 (12-ounce) bottle Mexican beer, such as Corona
Juice of 2 limes
4 cloves garlic, minced
4 teaspoons salt, divided
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
1⁄2 teaspoon ground red pepper, optional
1 medium yellow or orange bell pepper, sliced
1 medium red bell pepper, sliced
2 fresh jalapeno peppers, seeded and sliced
1 medium red onion, sliced
1 medium yellow onion, sliced
12 corn tortillas, warmed
