Now is the perfect time to learn about wine—it’s a nice gift for any occasion and there are so many delicious foods served this time of year to pair it with. I’ve broken down some of my favorite varieties below, along with pairing suggestions for each. Happy sipping!
Cabernet Sauvignon
PROFILE: Full-bodied with high tannins, medium acidity
PAIR WITH: Roasted or barbecued meats like beef, lamb and sausage

Pinot Noir
PROFILE: Light-bodied with low tannins; high acidity; red-fruit flavor
PAIR WITH: Chicken, pork chops, turkey, cheese, cream soups
ALSO TRY: Beaujolais, gamay
Chenin Blanc
PROFILE: Light-bodied; crisp
PAIR WITH: Chicken, seafood, salads, goat cheese
