But then there’s Lachie Rombouts falling from the sky on a 9’0” at a South Coast slab, defying precedent, defying physics, and somehow bringing all that surfboard around smoothly into the tube and standing there, arms outstretched, palms skyward, perfectly at peace like a religious fresco.
