The initiative sees a pool of entrepreneurs joining forces and buying up the premises situated between the provinces of Leghorn and Pisa to kick off with an ambitious project of which Futura 100’ is the first entry. Work in progress on new 80 metre Columbus Yachts is proceeding at the rate of knots. The hull left Palumbo Group’s premises in Naples July last for the Ancona yard where hull and superstructure were joined. Presented last June, 80 metre Columbus Yachts marks this yard’s entry in the world of mega yachts. It is the first of a series which is set to develop larger yachts. With a steel hull and aluminium superstructure which has already been joined to the hull following the installation of the twin engines, Construction number 10228 is all set to be delivered on time. This yacht is twin to M/Y “Andiamo” designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design in true Baglietto fashion. BENETTI SELLS & LAUNCHES - Benetti has announced the sale of BM004 which is now the fourth Mediterraneo 116 model of the Class Displacement range. The new yacht has been sold to an Asian business man in mid July following several meetings with Benetti’s Asia sales team as well as a local broker. Christos Ramnialis Benetti’s DG commented the announcement as follows: “We’re very excited for this new order. It will soon be added to the existing Benetti fleet in Asia. Given the growing popularity superyachts are currently enjoying in Asia we are pretty confident our success in this market area will continue to expand”. After having risked going on the rocks in 2015, in spite of several launches, new projects and the start up of a branch dedicated to refits that same year ISA Yachts called for a preliminary agreement through which it could carry on to face the stormy weather. Amer Yachts will be presenting a new version of the Amer 94’ now its third with totally redesigned interiors requested by the owner at the coming autumn Yacht Shows with Save the Sea 94’, Amer Cento Quad, the unreleased 110’ Unique and more. Bow Thrusters are normally chosen according to how much lateral push they need to supply. Such push or thrust is based on the following parameters: Boat’s Lateral Wind Area: in other words all that is exposed above the waterline which is affected by lateral wind pressure. In practical terms the exposed surface area is reduced by about 20-25% to take into account the fact that the lateral surfaces concerned ( superstructure, topsides) are not completely flat nor perpendicular and therefore in some way enhance the wind to slide off exercising less pressure. - Position of the Bow Thruster. Which part of the world do you come from captain? I come from Casarano a small town which is just 18 kilometres from Gallipoli and 35 from Otranto the next closest sea port town which means being close to the Ionian and Adriatic seas. Cantiere Navale Mostes is proceeding well with the construction of the displacing navetta model Audace 80 designed to cruise every ocean in any climate. Audace 80 is a smart three decker built in steel and aluminium with enough fuel capacity to cruise extensively without having to refuel. The hull design was tank tested to offer maximum stability, efficiency ( meaning optimized fuel consumption) while sporting considerable volumes inside.
