Globe artichokes This beautiful-looking vegetable might be a labour of love, but they’re well worth the effort. Made up of several layers, the soft ends of the inner leaves and the heart can be eaten, however the tougher outside leaves and central choke cannot.
TO STORE: Globe artichokes are best eaten on the day they are bought, but will keep in a plastic bag in the crisper section of the fridge for up to two days.
