THE new year seems to have cast a dark cloud over Mzansi’s entertainment industry. While many people were still in celebratory mode, the industry found itself losing one of its sons, Vukani “Chilli M” Masinga. Daddy, as many fondly remember him, became the first celeb to succumb to his illness in 2020. The 42-year-old DJ died on Thursday after he was rushed to hospital in the early hours of the morning. Family spokesperson, Mandla Dlamini, said Chilli M died of natural causes. “He fell ill on 1 January and was rushed to a private hospital where he passed away at about 8.15pm. “Unfortunately, we can’t disclose the name of the hospital. THE EFF Student Command (EFFSC) has warned that its members will embark on a “harsh” programme at institutions of higher learning that don’t allow walk-ins and late registrations for deserving students. Universities are preparing for an influx of a fresh crop of students, with registration expected to start next week. In the past, the issue of acceptance and development at universities led to student protests, culminating in the #FeesMustFall student movement for free education.
