Nationally more than 300 people lost their lives. The hearing – at the Gateway Hotel, uMhlanga, – began on November 15 and it is planned to go on until December 3. The Phoenix massacre took place between July 8 and 19 this year following violence that swept through the country, especially in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
