MY HOME... ABOUT ME I’m Michele Elliott, 48, and I own a gift shop, The House of Elliott, thehouseofelliott.net. I live with my husband Jon, 52, and our daughter, Mia, 11. MY HOME A 17th-century three-bedroom semi-detached cottage in Hertfordshire. Originally two cottages, it was converted into one property in the mid-19th century. We bought it in October 2001. WHEN I BOUGHT IT Although the house was in a good state of repair, the rooms weren’t decorated to our taste and busy wallpaper made it feel dark and dated. The kitchen and bathroom had also seen better days.
