With the Easter break coming up, I’m shortlisting some projects to plan, ready to swing into action. The big project I really need to be thinking about is a total kitchen refit, but that’s too big and scary for this year, so I’m focusing on humbler, more affordable changes. On my list: painting my oak, farmhouse-style dining table ( just the legs and base, not the top – in Farrow & Ball’s Babouche); turning some leftover worktop and old shelves into a patio kitchen; fixing a bunch of Muuto Dots (big, round pegs) to my bedroom wall in a random pattern to hang bags and scarves stylishly… Lots to do! This issue is stuffed with simple, takeaway ideas, from Easter makes to upcycling projects and advice on the Big Stuff…

BEAUTILITY AT DUNELM Okay, so we know the Housekeeper range won’t make cleaning any less boring, but it can make it altogether easier on the eye. The neat roller blinds feature her iconic bold and colourful designs, pared-back, muted tones and delicate prints. Plus, the splashproof fabric option makes them an ideal choice for bathroom refreshes, too. ARTISAN-STYLE CERAMICS Bring everyday luxury to the table with the new…
Hooray for a Pantone Colour of the Year that we can happily live with (last year’s shade of Ultra Violet was certainly not for the faint-hearted). Evoking a feeling of warmth, comfort and cheerful buoyancy, whether you choose to go bold and embrace the vibrant orange side of coral or play it safer with the slightly more muted shade of peach, welcome this happy hue into your home through artwork, wallpaper and stylish accessories.…
1. Smooth out the edges The loft-style raw materials here have been given a polish. Reclaimed mango wood gets a dark stain and clean edges, and metal is smooth rather than distressed. 2. Pick a retro palette With a simple grey and neutral backdrop, a little colour goes a long way. Seventies shades are making waves this season – try warm ochre, tangerine and moss green. 3. Make it ‘skinny’ Go for slim metal furniture and tapered wooden legs – this along with a low-back, straight-armed sofa can create a sense of space by showing more of the floor. 4. Top with texture Offset a streamlined sofa and metal accents with tactile finishes – baskets, woven cushions – and go for throwback style with macrame plant hangers. Seventies industrial…
